Syracuse finds itself 7-3 after beating the Cal Golden Bears 33-25 in a rematch 56 years in the making last weekend. With the postseason looming, Syracuse managed to improve its bowl standing, and is currently projected to play at the Gator Bowl. If that’s where the Orange lands, it will be their first visit to Jacksonville in the postseason since 1996.
Last time out, the Orange never trailed, winning the opening coin toss, driving nearly the length of the field for a 24-yard field goal and then forcing two first-half turnovers for Cal to set the tone for the win. Syracuse was at full force during the game. LeQuint Allen eclipsed 100 rushing yards for the second time this season. Kyle McCord finished 29-for-46 for 323 yards, and set the SU single-season record for completions in the process.
Now, they have to contend with another 7-3 team in the Huskies. UConn is coming off a week of rest following their 31-23 win over UAB. These two teams are dead even at 6-6 in the all-time series, but Syracuse managed a 48-14 blowout win last time they met in 2022.
Syracuse has just one game left on its regular season calendar, at home against No. 11 Miami on November 30.
